St. Mark’s Community Cemetery and Columbarium

St. Mark’s Community Cemetery and Community Columbarium

St. Mark’s offers two different ways to meet the needs of families at the time of death. Our cemetery began in the 1844 as the traditional place for burials. It is the final resting place for more than 6,000 persons, some of them Revolutionary War veterans. Since you may wish to search our, we have uploaded the oldest ones (1844-1980 or so) as PDFs. Feel free to search them.

Funeral plots are available to any family in our community. If you are interested in purchasing a plot, please contact the Church office by  phone ((717) 248-8327) or email (rector@stmark-lewistown.org). We are planning to develop a Pet Cemetery later this year.

Consecrated by Bishop Audrey Scanlon on Augusts 23, 2019, our new Columbarium is located in our St. Francis Memorial Garden, which is next to St. Mark’s (21 South Main Street) in the heart of historic Lewistown. We offer burial niches for any family in our community at a very modest price ($1,500). If you are interested, please contact the Church office by  phone ((717) 248-8327) or email (rector@stmark-lewistown.org) to arrange for a time to select your niche.

As Christians, we recognize both the reality of death and the promise of resurrection. May our loved ones rest in peace and rise in glory.
